Depending on how many supplies you have, it will be less likely for them to fall off. Also, if your customer wants to sit a drink or food item on the table, then they can a distance away from your supplies.

Ask For The Customers Preference

Before you begin, ask the customer, adult, or child, for a preference on what they would like to have painted on their face. Having an idea of what they are wanting you to paint, along with your supplies laid out on the table, will give you a rough idea of how to begin.

Also, before beginning, with a smartphone or tablet, look up a reference photo with what your customer is preferring. Confirm that the photo is a rough idea of what they want, then place the device on something, such as an easel or anything that will prevent your device from falling over. Continue to refer to the photo while face painting.

Add A Base

Add a base on your customer’s face. After dipping the tip of a sponge in water, rub the wet the tip into whichever color paint you are using that best suits the design, rubbing it in a circular-like motion. After rubbing, gently, add the color on the person’s face.

Add A Second Color Over the Base

With a clean sponge, select the color that will blend with the first color and apply it with the wet tip of the sponge. After applying, on the dry side of the same sponge, blend the colors together.

Let The First Coat Dry

For a few minutes, let your first coat of paint dry. You will be able to tell whether or not the paint is dry by, lightly and gently, touching the paint with a slight tip of your finger. If no paint comes off, then it is dry, but if it does then wait a few more minutes to dry.

While letting the paint dry, and while painting, interact with the customer. Interacting with your customer ensures that they are not bored and just sitting and while make them feel comfortable.
